Circumcision In Men - Yes Or No?

When should you go through circumcision?

Male circumcision is the surgical removal of the foreskin. We have nothing against this procedure if it’s done for medical reasons. If the doctor says that it’s necessary so be it. But we don’t approve circumcision if it’s done because parents insist on this procedure without even understanding the reasons or the consequences.

Yes, the procedure has its advantages: it is associated with a reduced risk of transmission of HIV, and HPV, and a lower likelihood of urethral infections (Saudi Medical Journal). But this can be avoided if you just use a condom and don't shove your cock šŸ™‚

Unlike a very serious surgical intervention in the genital area, a condom will not harm you. According to American Family Physician (2020), complications are rare and may include bleeding, penile injury, adhesions, excessive skin removal, phimosis, and stenosis. Parents should consider all the pros and cons.

The American Family Physician recommends taking into account not only the health risks for the boy’s health but also the religious and cultural customs of his family. We won't comment on it.

But we will rely on the materials of European scientific journals. A lot of materials are published by Muslim countries, but there are no reliable, high-quality studies as they simply do not have the opportunity to create control groups (and all men in these groups are circumcised). In addition, religion still leaves its mark on scientific work.

According to one of the popular myths, circumcision makes the penis more sensitive - but this is not true (International Journal of Impotence Research, 2021). On the one hand, circumcised men are less likely to experience premature ejaculation, on the other hand, they have a higher chance to suffer from the inability to achieve orgasm (Danish Medical Journal, 2016).

There is an obvious connection between sexual dysfunction and adult circumcision. Most likely, it happens because such a traumatic event leaves its mark. We often hear about issues with glans sensitivity and insufficient self-lubrication in circumcised men, but this has not been confirmed. Statistically, the head sensitivity in circumcised and uncircumcised men does not differ.

All in all, circumcision does not provide benefits that you could not achieve with a condom or regular visits to the urologist. Circumcision can have terrible complications and you shouldn't do it without medical indications.
